A Weekend Back At Home and A Few Treats To Try Out...

This weekend I went back to the beautiful county of Yorkshire to visit my parents who live in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I went back as my Uncle and his family were visiting us from Singapore and it is very rare that we get to see them. So it was a nice trip back. Short, but sweet. Considering how rare it is that I actually go back to the homeland, it does make me realise and appreciate how special it is to see and to spend time with my family. I was only supposed to be there for one night - Saturday - however; I haven't been very well over the past few days and so my parents very kindly let me stay for another night, and so I was able to spend a little bit of extra time with them, which was very nice - despite sleeping for the majority of today! I was, however, able to go shopping earlier with my dad and he bought me a few goodies. What a guy!

So over the weekend, as well as today, I have managed to accumulate quite a few beauty and skin care products from my wonderfully generous family. Some of them are products that I have already tried out and have been using for a while now, and have run out and needed to replace them, whereas others are products that I have heard lots about due to them being so raved about and I have thus been convinced that I have absolutely needed them for a fair few months now. And now I have finally got my hands on them, courtesy of my fantastic parents. So, here they are...

I will write brief reviews of the items that I have already used later in this post, but I will do a separate review post of all of these and more items in the next few days. These are the items that I have managed to get hold of whilst at home. They are products that you can actually get from most drug stores and/ or supermarkets, so nothing here is too pricey. All of these items are actually very affordable :)

Pictured here is (from right to left)  is the "Mega" Shampoo and Conditioner by Aussie, the "Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer" by Collection, the "Apricot Blemish Fighting" Scrub by St Ives, the "Argan Oil Night Repair Serum" and "Argan Oil Hair Treatment" and finally the "Archery Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil" by Soap and Glory. I can't remember the exact prices of each of these individual items but I will find this out and the next blog post I write will be a special review of these items and more, as I mentioned before, and that will be up in the next few days.

I am so blessed to have parents who happily funded my beauty regime this time round. Thankfully I didn't need as many products as I usually seem to need, and thankfully they have topped me up to last me another while. So thank you to them - you - if you are reading this.

This is the first blog post I have managed to write in quite a few weeks now, and I don't plan on going this long again without blogging. Quite the opposite actually, as I hope to blog a lot more now that I have the time to with Uni being finished forever. So, although this post has been a bit brief and a bit, well, all over the place, I hope that anyone who reads this enjoys it - and I hope it gives you a little bit of insight and flavour as to what is to come.

In the meantime, to keep up to date with me and what I do, what I wear, my skincare and beauty routines etc, follow my Instagram and Twitter and be sure to say hello! :)

Working Out And How This Benefits Me...

Working out is something that I have always gone through phases with, each time having a sort of temporary obsession with my body, how it looks, and how much I feel I may need to get in shape. Now, please don't get me wrong, I am a strong believer in loving yourself and loving your body, and being happy with your body - after all, every one is unique, everyone is beautiful, and everyone should love themselves. But I do know and understand how people may find this difficult. All I can suggest is find something that works for YOU, and don't care about what other people may think of you. Your body is YOURS and yours alone, therefore it should please only you. Whatever that may mean for you. For me, this has always meant that I am toned up, and able to keep up with things and to generally be                                                     healthy.

So about a month ago I joined Total Fitness and just over 2 weeks ago, I started working out and exercising. I do this both at the gym and also from home; that way if there is a day when I know there is no chance I will make it to the gym due to work or uni, I still get a workout. I tend to do 2-3 days in a row where I will exercise, and then have a day rest and then go again with the 2-3 days working out. And after just 2 weeks I have actually noticed a difference! Not only do I feel much better about myself and within myself, in every way, I have noticed a difference physically. My stomach has tightened up and my legs and arms appear to be toning up nicely as well. I still feel I have a long way to go until I am fully satisfied, but at least I know this is working for me!

This has not all just been happening because I have been doing more exercising - although it is obviously a key thing. But I have also changed my eating habits. I still eat everything I want to eat; chocolate, sweets, etc, but I have just started to cut back ever so slightly so that they are not the main things that I eat, like I used to. Now, as I said, I still eat those - which is great - but I also eat everything else too; Meats, Proteins, Carbs, Fats, Sugars, Fruits etc... everything, but in a more balanced way. Everything in moderation. Instead of just consuming and focusing on one. The truth is, your body needs a bit of everything! So I'm giving it a bit of everything, and burning off the calories on working off the things that are no good.

I have to say, my favourite new part of my changed diet and fitness lifestyle is the smoothies! My mum bought me a blender a few months back. It is just a simple, cheap one from Asda, and I love it! It is great for just blending a load of fruit, fruit juices and yoghurt together to make a simple, healthy snack.

I am absolutely loving my new routine that I have got into, and I plan on keeping it up for as long as I can. The main reason I wanted to start doing this was to tone up again - I used to be really toned - for when I get my next tattoo, as it is going to be quite a big one and so I want it to fit my body really well, but I want my body to look good and in shape for the tattoo to fit really well. That is the primary reason I wanted to exercise and tone up again, however just from spending two weeks doing it and already seeing some differences and feeling some changes, I feel this is something that is just a good thing for me to do generally. And hopefully is something that I can keep up in order to maintain my figure and my balanced fitness routine and lifestyle.

It is definitely something I would encourage every one to do - however, only do it for reasons that are for YOU. Reasons that will make YOU happy and that will satisfy YOU.

Remember, your body is YOURS and you are all unique and beautiful. Do what makes you happy.

If you want to keep up to date with what I get up to and what products I use, outfits I wear, diet and fitness routines I follow etc, then check out and follow my Instagram! I only get a chance to sit down and write a blog once every few weeks or so for now, until I finish my degree, then I plan to throw myself into blogging and I am even hoping to launch my YouTube channel in June once Uni is finished and exams are all done. So for now my Instagram is the most up to date way of keeping up with me.
Check it out and give me a follow :)

Yves Saint Laurent Make Up Class...

Hello Beauties!

As it has been just over a week since my last blog, I thought I would make sure I did another one today! :) Hurray! Quite a lot has happened over the past week or so, but one thing that I really wanted to share with you, briefly; is my experience attending a small Make Up class put on at Yves Saint Laurent in Browns of Chester (Debenhams), that took place on Friday. I signed up to attend this class just over a month before it was due to happen, and it was thanks to the lovely lady who serves me usually at the YSL counter, when I usually go to buy the lipsticks from the Rouge Volupte and Rouge Volupte Shine ranges. So, yeah, it is thanks to her that I was able to get involved. It was not just any ordinary Make Up class, however... It was presented by another lovely lady - whom I was ever so privileged and very honoured to meet - Emma Armitage, who is the regional Make Up Artist for YSL! It was such an honour to not only meet her, but to also be her model for the class, and to get my make up done by her, as well as receiving many tips and advice from her. What an amazing opportunity! I loved every second of it.
For this session, all I had to do was sit in the chair and let Emma demonstrate different techniques and products to the rest of the group. It was very relaxing and such a treat getting my make up done for a change! At the end of it, Emma and the rest of the staff at the YSL counter consulted everyone individually about their personal preferences when it came to makeup and skin care, and advised what products to buy. We were all treated to goody bag at the end of the session, in which were many treats from the YSL products. This was definitely one of the best afternoons I had ever had, being well and truly spoiled and pampered by such a high end name in the fashion and make up industry. And another best thing is that Emma checked out my Instagram page and followed me, and asked me along to all her future events that she does in Chester at the YSL counter. It's all super exciting and I am even more excited about her next visit following her return from Paris with YSL in the Summer.

Above is a photo of myself and Emma after the class and to the right is a photo of all the products I received in my YSL goody bag, most of which were products that Emma used for her demonstration on me. How beautiful are these products!? I cannot wait to use them and test them all out. There will indeed be reviews of each products posted on here as well as on my Instagram "estiloefashion" and soon on my YouTube channel which will hopefully be launched in June. Exciting times ahead!

If there is anything you want to see me blog about or any videos you want me to do for when I do launch on YouTube, please don't hestitate to contact me! Also check out my other pages!

So I May Have Gone Shopping Today...

Oh no! It's happened again! Every time I finish work and it is at a time where there are still a few hours of the working day left for the rest of town to be open, I seem to find myself more and more in the same situation. I clock out of work, get my bag checked and say goodbye to everyone and walk out of the store with the intention of being home within a few minutes. However more and more recently, I have found myself crossing the road and in a beautiful palace surrounded by luxuries and shiny, colourful products that my eyes are constantly drawn to. This place makes me feel like I'm at home, surrounded by absolutely everything and everyone I love in the world, and I get a feeling of contentment and happiness being there. Everyone looks at me, calling me into their area. And all the big names that bring everyone a sense of comfort because they are well known just surround and welcome me home. I never want to leave. This place is magical...

This place, this palace, is Debenhams. Browns of Chester. A department store.

So yes, I do indeed have an arguably "unhealthy" obsession with shopping, being in stores and buying products. Mainly clothes and beauty products. Hence this blog and the whole deal with Estilo e Fashion. To share with the rest of you my passion and to explore that industry on a more personal level.

To end, here are some images of the products that I have purchased today...

Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick by Yves Saint Laurent, Shade number 4 "Rouge in Danger.

This item usually costs £25.00, both in store and online, however, today I spent £20.00 on it as I had points on my Debenhams Beauty Club Reward card that totaled to £5.00. So I managed to spend less than I would usually have on it and the lovely lady who served me on the counter even gave me a free "Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils" Baby Doll Mascara. I think it must be a sample one but it was still free! She is such a lovely lady.

Anti- Blemish Solutions 3-Step System kit by Clinique.

This kit costs £30.00 and consists of 3 Anti-Blemish Solutions that as of now will be a part of my daily skin care routine. It is a 3-step system for all skin types that is (standard of the Clinique brand) "Allergy tested and 100% fragrance free", and consists of:
  1. Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam 50ml. This solution is a deep cleaner and so is step one of cleansing the face completely.
  2. Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion 100ml. This solution is used for step two which unclogs pores.
  3. Anti-Blemish Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment 30ml, which is step three. This final solution is designed to treat and clear up blemishes.
I have not used these products yet, as I have only just bought them, but I have been highly recommended them by friends and other beauty bloggers on my Instagram and Twitter, and I cannot wait to try them out. I will definitely post up a review of them in the next few weeks.

To complement the Anti-Blemish Solutions 3-Step System kit, I also purchased the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel, once again by Clinique.

This product costs £14.00 for 15ml and is designed to work both on its own and alongside the above products. It is designed not only to clear current blemishes upon application but also to prevent new blemishes forming. Fingers crossed this will work for me!

So after all that, I'd say today's shop was a very successful one. As mentioned before, as I have not yet tried these products yet due to only being recommended them and having only just purchased them, I will make sure I have reviews of them up on here and hopefully in the next few months on my YouTube Channel as well - which I plan to launch sometime in June. Until then, please continue to check out my blog here, and check out my Instagram page and my Twitter page. Also I would love to hear what you guys think of my blog and the things that you would like to see me posting on Instagram, Twitter and YouTube in the near future, and what you would like to see me writing about. Start of something new...

Hello lovelies!

So this is my new blog for Estilo e Fashion, and this is my first post! Basically, in this post I just want to introduce Estilo e Fashion and what and who we are and then to take it all from there.

As you can hopefully see in my bio and if you have looked at the information on my profile, Estilo e Fashion is basically all about Style and Fashion. 'Estilo' is the Portuguese word for 'Style', and 'Fashion', well, I'm assuming if you're reading this and understanding, you know what 'Fashion' entails. The story behind this name is, because I am interested and enthusiastic about fashion generally, as well as beauty and health, I wanted to start expressing myself through any means I could, and exploring these things. I wanted to build up a portfolio of images of the things I love and the things that inspired me in this area, and after discussing with a friend, Estilo e Fashion was born - initially as an Instagram account and now with the intention to expand to other social networks and as you can now see, a blog. Hopefully overtime these will all develop into my own business. I chose to go for "Estilo" meaning "style" as it covers anything from in beauty from make up to nails to skin care to hair to reviews to ... Well anything. And combining with fashion just creates the perfect label of everything I aim to explore. What of the Portuguese? .. Well, I love the language, I am trying to learn it and it just sounds so ... Beautiful.

So, a very brief introduction here to what I am all about. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who reads this, and I would love to know what you all want to hear from me.

I am hoping to expand to youtube in the next few months and do make up tutorials, reviews of products, and anything else you guys may want to see - I would very much appreciate it if you let me know. Hit me up either by emailing me on the contact me link, or on Instagram or Twitter - which would be amazing if you could check out and follow and help me get the ball rolling with all this!
